Where Do I put Safety Gates?
The Second mistake is buying the wrong gate for your application.
What's vitally important is to only use child gates where
they are intended to be installed.
gates should be used on stairways. The best type would
be swing type gates that the entire gate panel swings open,
leaving no mounting structures to step over.
If your need protection for an irregular opening like a step
down living room,
we suggest you use the Kidco
Panels can be added to extend the gate up to 24 feet.
gates work well between doorways and hallways, provided
there is solid wood construction. Stairs are usually place
next to hollow walls which, when under pressure, will create
a dent in the wall and rapidly loosen the pressure fit, creating
a dangerous situation. In addition, Stair posts (Newell posts)
have irregular surfaces, making a poor mounting condition
for a pressure gate.
Playpens - Playpens are good alternative
to childproofing an entire room provided they are used for
short periods of time (Academy of Pediatrics recommend children
be placed in playpen for periods not to exceed 20 minutes).
We only carry two types of playpens, PD10
Playpen by Kidco and the PD20
Playpen with pad by Kidco. These playpens are made
from tubular steel to provide maximum durability and safety.
The playpens are expandable by simply adding 24" extension
